Consumers often have some misunderstandings about processed food. Usually, most of the foods we eat are processed in some way. For example, apples cut from a tree and ground beef has been ground in a machine. But there are still real foods. There had difference between mechanical processing and chemical processing. It can be called real food if it's a single ingredient food with no added chemicals.
Real food is loaded with important nutrients such as vitamins and minerals that your body needed and packed with antioxidants and nutrients that support heart health. For example, broccoli contains more than 100% of the RDI for vitamin C. In facts, most of the real food contains the vitamins, minerals and other nutrients that our body needed.
In addition, real food is low in sugar. Research shows that sugar can increase the risk of obesity and type 2 diabetes. Even though fruit contain sugar, but more concentrate in water and fibre. We can see that real food can helps to control blood sugar. There are more than 400 million people have diabetes worldwide (International Diabetes Federation). The number is expected to be increase to 600 million in the next 25 years. Absorb unprocessed food helps to reduce blood sugar.
